The Seventh Theme: More important now than ever before in our planet's history!

The last of the "Seven Themes of Catholic Social Teaching"  is by no means the least!   In fact, given its purview of caring for the Earth --  which sustains all life materially and nurtures the soul spiritually -- this "last" theme could indeed be considered the"first:"

Thus, the last will be first, and the first will be last.  Mt 20:6

The Seventh Theme:

CARE FOR GOD'S CREATION
We show our respect for the Creator by our

stewardship of creation.
Care for the earth is not just an Earth Day slogan,
it is a requirement of our faith.
We are called to protect people and the planet,
living our faith in relationship with all of Gods creation.
This environmental challenge has fundamental
moral and ethical dimensions
that cannot be ignored.

For news and reflection on why the Seventh Theme is more important now than ever before in the history of the Earth, visit our companion blog:  HOLY GROUND COMMON GROUND which has recently emerged from its hiatus to continue to bring prayer, reflection, wisdom, and hope to our collective call to be dedicated stewards of God's Gift of Creation.
